Arlington Care Center
Our meeting for the Beta Delta Chapter, of Delta Kappa Gamma, was held on March 19, 2019, at Arlington Care Center. Co- President, Sandy Stoker, called the meeting to order. It was wonderful to see Barb Bibler at our meeting!
Debbie Weber read two thank-you notes from Paul Kennedy and Family, and Valerie Smith. Last month's notes are on-line for members to read. Debbie Jones, Treasurer, reported that we raised a total of $4,515.00 from our November Auction in 2018! We had the largest donation from the envelopes we left on the tables, from our members and non-members that were present that night and sent in later, too.
Under Old Business:
A. State Dates have changed. Our chapter dues are now due by the end of May. Everyone needs to give Debbie Jones their dues by the end of May. Thank-you to all members who paid their dues at the March meeting!
Under New Business:
A. Cathy Shumaker has tended her resignation.
B. Scholarship Committee: All the applications were sent out. They are due at the end of the month. The committee will be meeting on April 3, 2019 to determine the recipients.
C. WinEllen Marcum has many beautiful cards for the members to sign on the table. They will be sent to our reserve members.
D. Sue Christian reported that we had many gift cards donated from members and businesses for our auction in November. We raised $640.00 for the gift card tree!
E. We received a thank-you letter from Valerie Smith for our donation to Fostering Further. She said this donation was really appreciated.
F. We received a thank-you note from Sally Kennedy's family. Debbie Jones sent a rose and transferred money into the scholarship fund in her name.
G. Reading Foundation is looking for new members. If you are interested please contact Kathy DeVolld or attend their next meeting on March 27, 2019, in Room B, at the Licking County Library, from 5:30- 6:30 pm.
H. Committee Sign-Up Sheets for the next year are available tonight. Please sign up for 2 committees. Please consider being a committee chair.
I. The Executive Board wants to recommend Fostering Further as our charity for next year. We also need to decide if we will continue supporting The Baby Pantry as well. Diane Ganz made a motion to continue The Baby Pantry and Fostering Further for our two charities we will support next year. Sharon Spahr seconded the motion. A vote was taken and all members approved.
A. DON'T FORGET: Our next meeting will be held at the Licking County Library on April 16, 2019, at 6:00pm, in Room A.
B. Edna Ridenbaugh Please keep Edna in your thoughts. Let's keep her strong!!
Sharon Spahr made a motion to adjourn our meeting, so that we could make our art activity for the residents of Arlington Care Center. Jodi Gwin seconded the motion. We all had a wonderful time making the spring art project!
